LEADING NUTRITIONIST PAULA MEE
TO ADDRESS HEALTH & WELLBEING EVENING

RTE TV personality and one of the country’s leading independent nutritionists Paula Mee will be in Sligo on Thursday (27th November) to address the Health and Wellbeing evening being jointly organised by Connacht Gold and the National Dairy Council in Sligo’s Clarion Hotel (7.30pm).
The event, which is open to the public free of charge, will also include a presentation by Westport based counsellor and communications consultant Fiona Hoban and will conclude with skincare demonstrations for women and men by Fidelma Kelly from beauty and treatment specialists, Clarins.
“This is a real coup for us and we’re very lucky that Paula has agreed to come to Sligo and contribute to our Health and Wellbeing Evening,” said Mary Fox, General Manager of Connacht Gold’s Food and Retail Division. “We have a great panel of experts on the bill, each with a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with us.”
“We all become more conscious of our personal health and wellbeing coming into the festive season, and I have not doubt that Paula, Fiona and Fidelma will have some worthy advice for us as we head towards Christmas.”
In a presentation entitled ‘Celebrating the Nutrient Richness of Dairy’, Paula Mee will draw on the latest medical and research findings to explore in detail the full package of nutrients in milk. She intends to do this in a way which will help the audience to understand how and why milk and dairy work within a balanced diet.
“Many of us have grown up generally accepting that milk is important for bone health and dental health,” says Paula Mee. “I want to examine those traditional benefits of dairy in the context of more recent research and also look at emerging findings about milk and milk products in relation to blood pressure and as a sports hydration drink.”
The Health and Wellbeing event on Thursday 27th November in the Clarion Hotel (7.30pm) is open to members of the public free of charge. A food and wine reception will precede the presentations and guests will go home with goodie bags filled with even more gifts and samples compliments of Connacht Gold and the NDC. A raffle on the evening will raise funds for the North West Hospice.
