Countdown to Catwalk & Free Health & Wellbeing Event -
Free tips & ideas on how to look as well as feel your best….

Noel Cunningham, MC for the Donegal Creameries & National Dairy Council free Health & Wellbeing evening on Thursday 12th May in the Mill Park Hotel, Donegal Town.

The Donegal Creameries & National Dairy Council Health & Wellbeing event to take place on Thursday 12th May in Donegal Town may well give you some free tips and ideas on how to look your best as well as how to feel your best. Taking place in the Mill Park Hotel and open to the public free of charge, the evening will balance independent scientific advice about nutrition and a presentation on wellbeing; with an entertaining fashion show.

McElhinneys Department Store, which employs 175 people at Ballybofey, will put on a display of over 40 casual and occasional wear outfits from their Spring collection when their models take to the catwalk at the NDC & Donegal Creameries event.

The master of ceremonies will be TV personality Noel Cunningham. Originally from Killybegs, Noel is a TV3 showbiz reporter for Ireland AM and recently featured on the Driving Me Crazy programme. A Royal Correspondent for various networks, Noel has just returned from filming in London in the lead up to the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton. Noel was Donegal REHAB Person of the Year 2008 for his community and charity work and a Star Award Winner 2007/08 again for his contribution to community.

Paula Mee, who will be speaking at the event, is one of Ireland’s leading independent dietitians and also a tv personality and commentator on nutrition and health. Paula was a presenter of RTE TV’s Health Squad programme which ran for five years until 2006 and she makes regular appearances on TV and radio programmes advising on nutrition and health issues.

Specialist Fiona Hoban, a popular Counsellor & Communications Consultant, is well known for engaging her audience with a presentation which has a track record for being popular and enjoyable.

Dr Catherine Logan, Nutrition Manager from the National Dairy Council who is involved in organising the event in Donegal, says that those who attend can look forward to an enjoyable and informative evening.

The National Dairy Council and Donegal Creameries health & wellbeing event is open to the public free of charge. However proceeds of a raffle on the evening will be donated to North West Rehab.

The people who currently use Rehab services include young people and adults with physical, sensory and intellectual disabilities, people with mental health difficulties, people with autism and people with an acquired brain injury. A range of essential services is also provided to older people, carers and others who are marginalised. In Donegal, through its divisions National Learning Network and RehabCare, Rehab provides services for 92 people with disabilities at four locations.

In partnership with the HSE, RehabCare Donegal provides a range of high-quality person-centred services. These include a centre which provides programmes such as cookery, healthy eating, dance and movement, exercise and leisure, maths and English to 30 people. There is also a supported accommodation service. National Learning Network Donegal provides training funded by FÁS and the Health Service Executive (HSE) for persons out of work through accident, illness, or disability. The centre currently caters for 62 learners in Letterkenny and provide the vocational programmes Employer-Based Training, IT by Distance Learning & JobStart and the rehabilitative programmes Turas, Access, Advance and Prospects.

Doors for the event in the Mill Park Hotel on Thursday 12th May will open 7.30pm, with formalities starting at 8.00pm sharp.
