Wellbeing Coach & North Tipp Chef join Line-up for Thurles Health & Wellbeing Evening

Counsellor & Wellbeing Coach, Fiona Hoban

Counsellor & Wellbeing Coach Fiona Hoban will be discussing “A Positive Approach to Wellbeing” at The Dome, Semple Stadium in Thurles on Thursday 2nd February 2012, as part of a health and wellbeing evening organised by the National Dairy Council & Thurles Fresh Milk.

“It is healthy for all of us to think about our self esteem, emotional connections, achievements and expectations – or whether we feel in control of our lives,” according to Fiona Hoban. “If we want to be as healthy and well as possible we need to manage our emotional as well as our physical needs throughout our various life stages. If our emotional needs are not met in balanced ways, we can find ourselves stressed, anxious, depressed or even angry."

At the Health & Wellbeing evening in Thurles, Fiona Hoban will discuss the concept of “mindfulness” - the practice of bringing awareness and acceptance to what is happening now. “When we allow ourselves the space and opportunity to change how we feel and think, we are then in a position to make better life choices.”

Originally from Castlebar, Fiona Hoban runs a private counselling practice in Westport and is a part-time lecturer with the National Counselling Institute of Ireland. A graduate of Trinity College Dublin (MA Philosophy & Sociology), Fiona delivers Communications and Life Skills training to both public and private sector clients.
